AI-Powered Estimates

Note the following:

• AI-Powered estimates are not available on Enterprise accounts. 
• You must have the Sales User or Super User permission.
• The AI-Powered Estimates feature must be enabled for your account.

The AI-Powered Estimate feature provides fast and reliable project cost and timeline estimates based on a PRD and architectural choices. Our estimates let you drive your own scoping, estimations, and cost trade-off discussions, and prioritize your product roadmaps.

The AI-Powered Estimate feature uses a combination of historical project data, team structures, and architecture choices to calculate the estimated number of hours for a given project. Here’s how the estimates are generated:

• Historical Data: The process uses a historical dataset of thousands of completed Crowdbotics projects to ensure the estimates are based on real-world data. This dataset includes details such as:

  • Project type, such as web app or mobile app.

  • Team composition, roles such as developers, designers, and project managers.

  • Task complexity and the time required for various components.

• Project Requirements: When a PRD is uploaded, the AI breaks it down into tasks based on the complexity of the features, the architecture selected, and the size of the team required to complete the project.

• Estimation Logic:
  The AI provides project cost estimates by analyzing PRDs and relevant project details including:

  • Feature complexity: More complex features (such as custom APIs or integrations) are assigned more hours.

  • Team size and roles: Estimates assume a standard team structure.

  • Historical completion times: The AI compares the PRD with similar past projects to predict how long each task will take.

  • Standard rate: Estimates are based on a standard rate of $105 per hour for development work. This rate is fixed and applied across all estimates. For information on adjusting that rate for your situation, contact our Support Team.

Generate an Estimate

To generate an estimate, on the Phases & Features tab, select a feature and then in the toolbar select AI Price Estimation and select Estimate.
PRD-AI calculates the estimate and then displays that estimate. Currently, estimates are in US dollars.

• If you make any changes to your PRD or the feature, use the Update option to regenerate the estimate to account for the changes. Changes that impact the estimate include: adding or removing User Types, Modules, or Technical Recommendations; adjusting the price rates; etc.

• If necessary, you can Remove the estimate. You then have the option to run the estimation again.

The estimate provided by the AI is based on the information available and may not always be accurate. While we strive to deliver precise AI estimates, you should review the information carefully and verify the estimate.
