Article summary

Important

The visibility and availability of some functionality depends on your account type. For more information about account types, contact our Support team.

Use the information on this page in conjunction with Fine‑tuning your PRD, which guides you through the steps to get your PRD exactly as you want it.

The Features workspace is where you actually work with the features and all their functionality.

Left panel

The left panel of the Features workspace includes the following:

  • Phases (collapsible)

Includes all of the categories and features for a Phase. You can add and rename phases, and delete empty phases.

    • Categories (collapsible)
Includes all of the features for an area of functionality. You add and rename categories, and delete empty categories.

      • Features
When you select a feature, the details and actions are presented to the right.

    • Non-Functional Requirements

As part of the PRD creation, PRD-AI generates Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) to identify and capture areas (such as scalability, compatibility, and maintainability) that need to be considered during app development.

NFRs are provided in their own category called Non-Functional Requirements at the bottom of Phase 1 on the Phases & Features tab. Each NFR area (or type) looks and functions just as any other feature.

For more information, refer to Non-Functional Requirements.

Right panel

The right panel of the Features workspace includes the following:

Feature basics

This section contains the following:

  • User Types with options to add or remove user types for this feature.

  • AI Price Estimation

    Note the following:
    • AI-Powered estimates are not available on Enterprise accounts.
    • You must have the Sales User or Super User permission.
    • The AI-Powered Estimates feature must be enabled for your account.
  • Feature Description with the option to change it.

  • Feature Acceptance Criteria with the option to change it.

Analyze tab

In the Analyze tab, we begin the Spec-to-Code process. When you click Analyze, the system performs a comprehensive analysis of the requirements of the feature, breaking them into different parts as applicable, including: frontend, backend, data schema, third-party integration, and business logic. This step helps us create more complete and higher-quality starter code for your project.

Click Analyze. Depending on the scope of the feature, this may take a few moments. You can continue working in your PRD and come back to this tab later to see the results.

Starter Code tab

In the Starter Code tab, we take the next step in the Spec-to-Code process. First, you used the Analyze tab to analyze your PRD.  Then, when you select the Starter Code tab, you see a list of recommended starter code.  For any of the items, click Generate Starter Code, we provide AI-powered starter code for the feature, using the details generated by the Analyze step as well as any information available from the Context Settings. Code is generated in the background. You can continue working in your PRD and come back to this tab later to see the results.

When you're viewing the starter code, you can copy the code and switch to a different starter code recommendation.

Match-AI tab

Comments tab

With any feature, you can add comments to promote discussion and team interaction. Add, edit, or delete your comments. Note: You can only view comments made by others.

PRD Chat

With PRD Chat you can ask PRD-AI questions about your PRD and receive responses and guidance specific to your PRD and your context.

Currently, PRD Chat is only available upon request. For more information: Contact our Support team.
