Article summary

In the PRD options window, we now provide multiple ways to create a PRD depending on your situation and intent.

New Application
This is the classic PRD-AI experience. You provide details about your app and then PRD-AI generates a full PRD complete with features, requirements, acceptance criteria, and more. You refine the PRD until it matches your vision for your app.

  1. Click Create PRD with AI.
    The App Description screen opens.

  2. Provide the following:

    • Description

    • PRD Detail level — Specify the amount of information and specificity included in your PRD.

      • High (Default) level provides the most comprehensive PRD.

      • Medium level provides for a more concise and iterative approach.

    • Context Settings (if enabled)

    • Customizable PRD Fields (if enabled)

Refer to PRD-AI Best Practices for more information on how to format your app description and the context settings.

  3. Click Generate PRD.

Incremental Growth
The Incremental Growth option, you start with a blank PRD to which you add requirements by defining one feature at a time.

This is an ideal option if:

  • You already have an app and you want to use PRD-AI to develop new features or versions.

  • You want to create a simple app and define just a few features.

  • You already know what you want to build and want finer control over the features.

  1. Click Start with a Blank PRD.
    The App Description screen opens.

  2. Provide the following:

Refer to PRD-AI Best Practices for more information on how to format your app description and the context settings.

  3. Click Generate PRD.

Technical Document to PRD
You upload a technical document and PRD-AI generates a full PRD complete with features, requirements, acceptance criteria, and more. You refine the PRD until it matches your vision for your app.

  1. Click Create PRD from Document.
    The Create PRD screen opens.

  2. Upload your technical document.
    Currently, the following limitations apply:

    • You can only upload one file per PRD.

    • Accepted formats: PDF

    • Max file size: 5MB

  3. Provide a description of the document and how you want to use it in the PRD generation process. Click View Examples to understand the type of information you can provide.

  4. Click Generate PRD.
