Article summary

Important

The visibility and availability of some functionality depends on your account type. For more information about account types, contact our Support team.

Use the information on this page in conjunction with Fine‑tuning your PRD, which guides you through the steps to get your PRD exactly as you want it.

Initially, at the top of the Phases & Features tab is the Standard toolbar.

If you select a feature (or multiple features using the Select Features options explained below), the Feature-selected toolbar replaces the standard toolbar.

Standard toolbar

Initially, at the top of this section is a standard toolbar with the following tools.

Note: If you select a feature (or multiple features), the Feature-selected toolbar replaces this standard toolbar.

Feature Selection options

  • Select Features menu

  • Select all — Selects all features, regardless of locked state, category, or phase.
  • Deselect All — Deselects all selected features.
  • Select locked — Selects all locked features, regardless of the category or phase.
  • Select unlocked — Selects all unlocked features, regardless of the category or phase.
Note: The terms "locked" and "unlocked" refer to a functionality known as Phase locking. If you do not see any indication of locking, that means this functionality is not in use and you can consider all features unlocked.
  • View menu

To make it easier for you to work with your PRD, you can choose Collapse all or Expand all from the View menu. This affects everything in the features list including all phases, categories, and features.
  • Feature Title search
You can find a specific feature by searching for any word in the feature title. In the Feature Title search field enter any text. As you type, search results are updated in real time, displaying matching features (within their corresponding categories). The searched text is highlighted in each result for easy identification, making it simpler to locate and access features.

AI Tools

  • Add Feature with AI — This is similar to when you initially created your PRD. You describe the feature and click Add Feature, PRD-AI processes it. The result is feature with a suggested name, category, feature overview, and acceptance criteria. If you choose Add Feature, this feature is added to the feature list at the end of the category specified in the preview.

  • Suggest Features with AIPRD-AI reviews your current PRD and identifies features you may want to add. Each feature includes the name, category, feature overview, and acceptance criteria. You can skip a feature using the arrows at the top. If you choose Add Feature, it is added to the feature list at the end of the specified category. You can also Refresh the Suggestions list.

  • Analyze Risks with AIPRD-AI reviews your current PRD and identifies any risks you may want to consider.

Add

  • Add Category — Add a new category, in any phase.

  • Add Feature — Add a new feature to any Phase and Category, with Description and Acceptance Criteria.

  • Add Phase — Add a new phase.

  • Start OverCaution: This removes everything you’ve done on the Planning page and brings you back to the Create PRD with AI window, using the same app name (and icon, if provided).

  • Download — You can download your PRD in the following formats.  The contents of the download depend on the format.

  • Generate Data Models — Refer to Data Models.

  • Install Modules — This action installs all the modules in all the features of this PRD to your GitHub repository.

Important: The Install Modules action is limited to one use per PRD; only perform this action when your PRD is finalized. Make sure you've included all the necessary modules and removed any unwanted ones before proceeding.

Get Cost Estimate

Note: This functionality is available on specific configurations. If it is not available in your system, contact our Support team.

When you’re ready to proceed with your application, use the Get Cost Estimate option. Our sales team will review your PRD and provide a cost estimation on a per feature basis.

Feature-selected toolbar

When you select one or more features, the Standard toolbar is replaced with the feature-selected toolbar. This toolbar provides the following:

  • Number of Features Selected
Note: If you do not have the Phase Locking feature enabled, the “locked” and “unlocked” options are not applicable. All features are considered unlocked.

  • + Jira Tickets — You can select multiple features and create a Jira ticket for each.  For more information, refer to Jira Integration.

  • Change Phase — If you have more than one phase, you can move selected features into a different phase. To add a phase, select Add Phase in the Add list.
Note: When you move a feature to a different phase, its category is created in the target phase and the feature is moved into that category.

    Important

If you move multiple features to a new phase, the only way to revert your change is to manually select and move the items back.

  • AI Price Estimation

    Note the following:
    • AI-Powered estimates are not available on Enterprise accounts.
    • You must have the Sales User or Super User permission.
    • The AI-Powered Estimates feature must be enabled for your account.
  • Deselect All

  • Delete — Deletes all the selected features. Important: This is not reversable.

Direct feature linking

When you select a feature, the address bar in your web browser changes to a unique URL for that feature in the format  /dashboard/app/1234/planning/phases/feature/56789

To share a specific feature, simply share that unique URL.
